AMSTERDAM THEATRE
Amsterdam Theatres - English-language theatre is easy to find in Amsterdam. Most of the major theatres are centred around the Leidseplein, and are within an easy stroll of each other. Tickets can be booked at the theatres' box offices, or through the tourist offices, which will also hold programmes. Ask your hotel or one of the tourist offices (see the Tourist Information section of this Guide) for a listing of what’s on during your stay.

Boom Chicago is a comedy institution. Nearby, is the more
low-key Comedy Café, which hosts international, stand-up
comedians. De Balie is a beacon with its theatre, film and
political debate. The Melkweg and Paradiso are popular nightclub
venues that also stage new theatre. At Stadsschouwburg, the
Municipal Theatre, you find quality stage
performances. In the Leidseplein and Vondelpark you often
stumble across theatre. Amsterdam is a magnet for street-performers.

Boom Chicago is housed in the Leidseplein Theatre. A night at Boom can include a meal in the theatre restaurant as well as drinks in the front bar and lounge. The audience sits at tables and drinks are served throughout the show. Doors open at 6.30 pm for dinner. Admission €18.
